Get Your Love On – Available Now!

Hi all,

I have made the single available for download through my Bandcamp page.

It will also be available at all good stockists in the next few weeks, with a limited 2000 CDs being released on October 25th.

For now, you can download here – garethicke.bandcamp.com/track/get-your-love-on

All the profits from the single will be sent to Gaza to help victims of Israels latest assault.

Here is the video…

Couple of live bathroom demos for ya…

Yellow.

I get bored easily, so thought I would knock out a couple of live tunes, to fill the time.

The first is called Jura. It’s only fitting that I should write a song after my amazing experiences in the highlands, and Islands.

The second track, The Island, was written about the island that I grew up on; The Isle of Wight.

Both rough and live. But hope you enjoy.

Get Involved In A DIY Music Video…

Hi everyone,

This year we are playing Wembley Arena again, and are releasing a single, to go along side the performance.

The track, Get Your Love On, will be released at the end of October.

We are putting together a music video for the track, and we would love for as many people, from all over the World, to get involved.

So here is the deal…

I will email you a copy of the track, and then you make a music video to go with it. It can be anything you want. It can be you singing in the shower, or running through a desert with a camel on a lead. Whatever you want, but the stranger the better!

You can upload to youtube and post wherever you want, all we ask is that we are allowed to use clips of your video in our Official video as well. We want to take the best clips from all over the Globe and piece together a music video of our own.

The song is designed to bring everyone together, and there is no better way of showing that, than including everyone in the video.

If you would like to take part, email us at subscription@davidicke.com and we will get a track mailed to you. You can go mad and make a HD video, or film it on a mobile phone. Whatever you want to do!

Get involved! Share with your friends!

Band Camp.

OiOi.

Hope everyone is well. Just a quick one to say my band camp page is up and running.

It’s basically the same as itunes and amazon etc, but the downloads are slightly cheaper.

We all love a bargain.

Have a butchers hook by clicking onto garethicke.bandcamp.com or by clicking the ‘BC’ icon in the top right corner.

All the albums and singles are there for download, and like I say, it’s a wee bit cheaper.

Soundcloud.

Oi.

I have taken control of my soundcloud page, and will be posting a lot more material there in the future.

I will post the odd album track from ‘It Gets Worse At Night’ and ‘A Brand New Battle’, but mainly I’ll be posting acoustic demos and live recordings.

To add me on Soundcloud click onto soundcloud.com/garethickemusic

Today I posted a live demo recorded, lovingly, in my toilet.

Here it is…

Hope you like.

Splitting from Eromeda Entertainment.

Hello all,

My contract with Eromeda Entertainment has expired and I have chosen not to renew it, for future releases. There are no hard feelings and the decision to split was not based on arguments or in fighting. It was simply a venture that, after two years, had run its course.

I wish Eromeda and their great stable of current artists nothing but success, and look forward to hearing their future releases.

In the last year or so I have been increasingly frustrated and deflated with the way things were going, and in my mind, without enjoyment, there is no reason to be a musician any longer.

There is a saying in life, that if you keep trying to go through a door, over and over, and it is continuously being slammed in your face, you are probably better off trying another door. That is exactly what I am doing from now on.

The first port of call, is to start enjoying music again. Getting out on the road and playing is something I have missed massively over the last year.

I have put together a band here in Derby and we start rehearsals next week. They are a great bunch of lads and like myself, just want to play live. None of us picked up an instrument to ‘be famous’ or ‘make millions’, in fact, I couldn’t think of anything I would enjoy less.

Just give me a guitar, a microphone, and an audience, and I am as happy as a pig in shit.

So that is the immediate plan.

I have a single being mixed, and as soon as that is mastered, I will be putting a music video together, and will be releasing the single myself.

This summer I have plenty of solo shows including the Isle of Wight Festival, and a tour of Scotland.

I can’t wait to get back out on the road, and get my smile back, before these frown lines become permanent!

Hope to see you on the road soon.

In the studio…

Hi,

I have been down to the Isle of Wight this weekend to get together with my old pals at Studio 5a.

We have been working on the single ‘Get your love on’, to be released for this years Wembley show.

There are a few announcements regarding the release of that single, and the future in general.

I just need to iron out a few things and I will post here asap.

Band Camp…

Hi all,

I now have a band camp page. It’s a much easier way of downloading tracks, plus, the money comes to us, without the big guys taking a MASSIVE percentage.

Check out my band camp page here.
