On September 22nd, me and my pal Steve, are running the Sheffield 10k. On a personal level, I simply want to complete the race, having only had groin surgery at the end of June. But more importantly, I want to raise money for a wonderful organisation called Media House.
My mother is law Amanda, has worked for most of her life helping children all across the special needs spectrum. I’ve been lucky enough to have spent a lot of time with some of these children as she also provides respite care, alongside her job at the Media House school.
Here is a bit about them…
“As well as all the usual facilities that you find in schools on the Island, Medina House has many specialist facilities, including a splash pool, sensory garden, outdoor classroom, speech and language therapy room, a room for medicals, spacious gym and separate dining hall, a white room and a dark room; specialist information technology equipment (ICT) , a hydrotherapy/swimming pool and a soft play room.We also have two mini-buses that are used throughout the school week to take children on a range of enrichment visits that support their learning”
Obviously all these facilities cost money, so any little pennies you may have, please pop them in the pot!
Thank you. x
