Song for Wembley.

Hey folks.

If you don’t already know, my Dad is speaking at Wembley Arena on October 27th next year. (Click here for tickets)

Well I have been entrusted with the job of writing and recording a song to support the event. It’s Wembley Arena and god knows how many thousand people. So no pressure like…

I am massively stoked though as it’s a hell of an honour and a huge achievement for me personally.

As a musician, playing at Wembley Arena is the equivalent of playing at Derby County’s Pride Park as a young footballer. Or maybe that was just me?

I’m back in the studio with the lads Tomorrow to lay down another track for the album. That’ll be track number 8 done and dusted and only 4 more tracks to go until the album is completed.

I know it’s been a while since my first record. I hope this one is worth the wait.

Hope you’re well. x

Time to stand up and not fight…

Hey people.

I hope everyone is well. Here is a great video I was sent this morning. It shows the staggering amount of people standing up and not fighting.

Violent protests are exactly what they want. Fighting for peace is an oxymoron if ever I heard one.

Just stop complying with a World elite that couldn’t give a shit about any of you. It’s time to say no. We will no longer be your cannon fodder. We will no longer put our lives on the line to fight for the agenda of the global elite.

No violence. Just non-compliance.

G and Tippers Theme!

Yo!

This Thursdays show is all about extremes. We want to know the mostly manly and the most girly thing you’ve ever done. That goes for both men and woman.

For instance, I get my Mrs to get rid of spiders and even crane flies as they terrify me. But on the other hand, I can down ten pints, eat a kebab and smash the Granny out of a punching machine. Grrr!

So we want as girly as this…

Or as manly as this…

Also, Tippers and I will attempt another two World Records, plus Pranks, Quiz, Gammon and Mostyn stories of the week, and tonnes more.

Tune in!!! x

As yet un-named…

Hello folks.

Am in the studio today. We’re laying down a completely new tune. It hasn’t even got a name yet. Any ideas?

The track is about the nightmare that is long distance relationships and the trauma that loneliness causes for an already tortured mind. Sounds upbeat eh? Truth is it is. It’s a 128 bpm tempo which is apparently the pop song formula. We’ll see!

This will be track number 8 of the album complete. We’re getting there and the record is really taking shape. I sincerely hope you feel as positive when you hear it, as I do now.

I am sorry I’ve been a bit crap with the old posts recently. I’ve been so busy with various things that I literally don’t have time.

But I will make time. Shit loads of news to come soon. TV pitches and book publications to name a couple.

Be safe all! x

Help?!

Hello my lovelies!

This might sound like a bizarre request, but does anyone that doesn’t drink actually enjoy Real Ale Festivals? Because if you do, and you live on the Isle of Wight, you could be the man/woman to save the day!

Me and Tim are playing at Rookley Real Ale Festival on Friday Night. Now there is one problem. As it’s a small event, with a tiny budget, we’re getting paid in beer.

Now in the 1960’s it wouldn’t have been a problem. We just get smashed and then drive home.

But…

Drink driving is for mugs.

If anyone fancies giving me and young Timothy a lift, we’ll forever be in your debt!

We’ll pay petrol, get you free entrance to the Festival and chuck you a couple of copies of the album.

Email me at garethicke@hotmail.com.

G and Tippers Show.

Hello!

This Thursdays show is jam packed with nonsense.

We have 4 separate themes to get you excited. We want your tweets in discussing Tits, Cocks, Balls & Monet Art. We don’t want to attract to many Jeremy Kyle types so we’ve thrown in Monet Art for you culture vultures.

Tweet us at www.twitter.com/gandtippers if you have any thoughts or opinions of any of those aformentioned subjects.

Also this week, we have Welsh band ‘The Undivided’ on the show. We’ll be chatting to their handsome frontman about their upcoming national tour.

In honour of our new resident Mike Gammon, we are launching a new competition in his name. The ‘Mike Gammon Meat Raffle’ will make one very lucky Island resident a very happy bunny.

Me and Tippers will also have a couple of challenges to undertake. It’s as action packed and unrealistic as a Bruce Willis film.

Tune in this Thursday from 7pm til 10 at www.vectisradio.com.

Six tracks into the album…

Hello people,

I’ve just left the studio having completed track number six of my second album. I am finally starting to get the buzz about you guys all hearing it. It certainly won’t be what you expect. It is very different.

Today I finished a track called ‘Jenny’. That means I’m half way through. It’s all downhill from here…in theory!

You know when you feel that one person is ‘the one’? Like no matter what happens or where you are, there is that one person that will forever be inside you heart and head? Every Forest Gump needs his Jenny. Hence the name.

I have a couple of shows this weekend. Check out the shows page!

Back in the studio.

Oi!

I’m back in the studio tomorrow. Can’t wait to get in and start work on track 4 of my album. We’re three tracks down and the sound is already starting to come out. It’s obviously making it easier when we know what direction we’re going in. It’s different, I’ll let on that much.

The lads at Studio 5a have been great. Claydon worked with me on ‘It Gets Worse At Night’ so knows what I’m all about. And Guy has been awesome and brought forward some wicked ideas and a new approach.

There are some parts of this record that will remind you of early 90s grunge, parts that sound very poppy and other bits that resemble the XX. It’s definitely going to be different. I sincerely hope you’ll like it.

As soon as I’m done with the record, I’ll be straight back on the road across the UK and Europe. I’ll keep you up to date on all progress and hopefully get a few rough clips of the tunes on here as we go.

Stay lucky. x

This Weeks G & Tippers Show…

Hello!

This weeks G and Tippers theme is ‘Practical jokes’. We’ve all done one and we’ve all been on the receiving end of them. What we want, is the best of the best.

We’ll have our regular contributions from Mike Gammon (http://twitter.com/mike_gammon) and Mostyn (http://twitter.com/mostyn6) as well as a few of our own. But what we really want, is YOUR stories.

Email us at gandtippers@vectisradio.com or tweet us atwww.twitter.com/gandtippers.

Thursday nights from 7pm on www.vectisradio.com.

Tune in! x

Recording starts again…

Hey everyone,

I’m back in the studio again in the morning. I can’t wait to crack on with the recording of my second album. It feels like a billion years since ‘It Gets Worse At Night’ was recorded in London.

This new record is already one track down as me and the lads at Studio 5b laid Adrienne down a few weeks ago. That sounded rude.

I’ll get updates and song clips up as soon as I can.
